Mine's a laptop, and it still plays just about any game that I've thrown at it this far, so (given that was the only thing I couldn't already do on a laptop before this one) I don't see any compelling reason to continue to have a desktop machine once my present one (similar spec, except with an older Core 2 Quad) eventually dies. I mean, if I need it to be on a solid surface, I can just put it on the desk. :)
