Well, the whole affair of gender roles I hinted here is kind of my scientific main interest. The paper I write about MLP is just about what role media plays in how children get socialiszed in gender roles - and what the current changes (like FiM) in that regard are and what they mean for society - especially education. The whole affair also is one of the things I focus my political engagement on :-)
