I sang Driver's High by L'arc En Ciel (youtube-search it if you aren't familiar) and after finishing the song and meet/greeting a bunch of people who liked my performance, a young woman handed me a cd and business card asking if I was interested in auditioning for her heavy VK j-rock group. I warned her that I can't do growl-screaming stuff but she was adamant about getting my contact info and getting me to give it a shot. I did do some brief screaming for the high notes in the song I sang; she told me my inflections were dead on or something whereas most Americans do it wrong
