They got back to working on it a few years ago. It launched last year but two months later they put it back in closed beta mode again. They recently opened up invites again though, I have two left if you want one. I got @<span class="vcard"><a href="http://rainbowdash.net/user/1047" class="url" title="Erik Banner"><span class="fn nickname">communistprime</span></a></span> into it and he seems to be having fun with it.
