Switching to a traditional cover-based-shooter mechanic gives the gunplay better flow. I gather powers are actually handled better too, though I basically never used them, as I was an infiltrator. Whilst the equipment is horribly simplified, it's because the game has gone more to the shooter aspect than the RPG aspect and thus relies more on player skill than numerics.</html>
