Ever since I switched from nvidia to nouveau, I haven't really had freezes it couldn't recover from anymore. But yes, the stability could definitely be better, and I do understand it's a big issue (I stopped using KDE because it used to segfault once every 3 hours on me, which made it practically unusable).
