I may not always be a safe individual actually, but at least I'm aware of that fact and can protect against my impulses. You raise a valid point.  It's dangerous to be open with one's self and others about desire, etc. I've taken the risk in the name of self-acceptance and have been burned on many occasions by doing so. To me the pain has been worth it, not just for physical pleasure (though I admit that is a contributing factor), but the peace of having faced those difficult or socially taboo parts of me openly.</html>
