GRUB (the bootloader Ubuntu uses) supports Windows. The Microsoft bootloader doesn't support Linux, though. So, whatever you do, you need to install Windows FIRST because otherwise everything breaks. But yes, installing Ubuntu won't ruin your Windows installation (unless you install it on the partition Windows resides on, of course).</html>
