Maybe tolerating them as a person is similar, but it sounds grudging or lukewarm when i say, &amp;quot;I tolerate you,&amp;quot; instead of, &amp;quot;I respect you.&amp;quot; When it comes to their actions, saying, &amp;quot;I respect what you're doing,&amp;quot; shows approval and warmth where, &amp;quot;I tolerate what you're doing,&amp;quot; sounds again like I don't approve. I don't see the point of just going along with/tolerating something that could hurt somepony. Love spurs us to action, not passive coexistence.</html>
