That's one thing that really stood out about this show and the fandom to me. All of the major circuit TV shows seem to be based on anti-heroes and tragedy. Breaking Bad, Ray Donovan, Dexter, Homeland. Even music is seldom critically acclaimed unless it's somehow nihilistic or introspective. I kind of admire how simple and sincere MLP is in defiance of that trend.</html>
