Some of them can run at like 70km/h with a mass of a few hundred kg, and in general they can reach over 50km/h with a full grown man riding them. Of course a kick from one, with a contact surface as small as a hoof, will be able to remove someone's knees. I mean, you can do the same with a shovel and your arms don't have a fourth of the strenght of a horse's hind leg.
