I moved 800 miles away from my hometown and all my friends. Nine years later, I have a ton of great friends, happily married for four years to my first best friend that I made here, and am generally quite happy. My only regret is not being able to visit my family as often as I could before certain things happened. It was really hard at first, but I made it out okay and have carved a really nice life for myself here. Just make time to visit and call those you love back home. :)
