Some people are more suited to reaching others on a logic-based level. Some people are more able to reach people emotionally. Most are a mix of both, some lean more towards one or the other.<br /><br />Some people will use that power incorrectly (making decisions entirely emotionally is indeed one example), but I don't think it's worth discounting anyone's opinions based on how they think.
