I'm saying I don't mean it condescendingly. I can certainly try to remember you don't like it when I assume things, but I might forget, so I'm not going to give you my word on it. If you feel people think less of you simply for starting with the basics, that seems like a problem I can't be concerned with, otherwise I begin to worry everybody assumes I'm being unkind, no matter what I say. Others will appreciate what you don't appreciate, and vice-versa. Some, for example, would feel embarrassed for not knowing what I'm talking about unless I just kept it simple.  I find your presumption that I think I'm better than you (that I'm being condescending) to be offensive. Why should you assume that of me?</html>
