Nothing really comes to mind. As a writer? I personally find his prose a tad too affluent and his dialogue comes off as heavy handed. I also wish his characters would act more their age. He's not a terrible writer though, he has a great understanding of pacing and dramatic structure and is generally thorough in the themes he explores.
