You normally use some heat-shrink to prevent short circuits ( possibly by completely covering all conductors with it, and then punch a hole though the hole-area. leaving it fully sealed off, with a what I like to call a &amp;quot;sloppy sock&amp;quot; )... However heat-shrink does not really work at 5 degrees below freezing... I would be VERY worries about arcing, but I am not a boat-technician or even an electrician.</html>
