For tags, if you place a # before a word, it becomes a tag. If you put a ! before a word, it also shows up in a group you joined. For example, I'm in a group called &quot;Everypony loves hugs.&quot; If I wanted a post to show up there, I type !<span class="vcard"><a href="http://rainbowdash.net/group/145/id" class="url" title="Everypony loves hugs (espeacially from Sweetie Belle 99) (hugs)"><span class="fn nickname">hugs</span></a></span>, and it shows up.
