I'm also a pony fan, own merch, clothing, all comics, (art-)books, and I watch the series since mid-season-1 when it first aired. I want to have a good movie but I developed a more objective view on the series as well a different set of expectations. The movie didn't deliver on that. However the leaked episodes of season 7 are way better. I'd say that the season 7 finale is better than the movie despite having also some flaws.
