The first two episodes formed a loose arc (in that the B-plots of both episodes revolved around Cartman and Heidi Turner, while the A-plots were unconnected and revolved around Randy and Tweek, respectively), then they ignored it for a few episodes, besides one quick joke in the fourth episode, then episode 6 re-introduced Mr. Garrison as a character and also went back to the Cartman/Heidi story, and episode 7 (last night's episode) continued what was put down in episode 6 and the ending was left pretty open ended, so I guess they're just going full-blow serialized again.
