I strongly believe that the official one is as dumb as this Chinese copy of yours. The current and voltage is just passed trough 1:1 from one connector to the other. I don't think that the stand has to regulate anything or do any kind of processing. 25€ for that thing is way too overpriced and should cost 1/10th of that.
