I plan to attach a plastic canvas cover for the rails and the threaded rod such that the crap I cut doesn't land on them. It's not an expensive upgrade or a technical improvement but more an improvement for maintenance and convenience. I was cutting some clear plastic (polystyrene) and that stuff was magically drawn to the lubricated rails and threaded rod. I had to wipe everything off and lubricate again.
