 <html>The state of Linux desktop environments for old hardware (i.e. ASUS EEE PC 1000H) is abysmal. I love KDE but the current version is unusable. The same goes for GNOME, which is furthermore hampered by being unusable because of UX reasons. Even the &amp;quot;classic&amp;quot; Gnome is horrible performance-wise. MATE is a tad better but I don't like it. The only real choice I have is XFCE. It is fine with a huge GNOME-influenced asterisk. I'm looking into Enlightenment but it also irks me a lot.</html>
