I was also having some strange issues getting the Query selection to work. It didn't want to process jQ('#' + target + ' div p.notice_stufforsomething') ~ I tried a few varients, with the overall intent being to select the id of the notice, and the p.notice-content or something within it. It was freaking out, so I did .find() instead.
