From there you'll probably need to do some resizing and/or cropping, which requires some kind of image editing software. Gimp and <a href="http://Paint.net/" title="http://Paint.net/" rel="external">Paint.net</a> are good, free choices. But I don't use either of them, so I can't walk you through that part.
