  10. @metaltao The original romanization system for hanzi to English was built on an imperfect understanding of Chinese. Because there were multiple Chinese dialects to convert, consonants were initially used very sparingly, so something like the 't' in "tao" would signify a 'd' sound whereas if you wanted a 't' sound you needed to write "t'ao" in the old system.

  12. @metaltao "Tao" and "Dao" are both correct spellings, it's just that "dao" is the only correct pronunciation.

  13. @metaltao @metaltao Basically there are two systems of romanization from hanzi, one that is older and one that is newer, the former translating 道 as "tao" and the latter translating it as "dao". Despite this, both romanization systems use the "dao" pronunciation of the word.

  14. @metaltao Yup, I have to make a lot of calls from the Japanese guy because it was exclusive and hard to find in my country. Literally above the list of rarest beyblades I can find. Plus, I love the emotion it wields in that clock face.

  20. @metaltao No, no copper, it's just a blue agate geoge.

  21. @metaltao Yeah, geodes can have a number of different crystal formations that can change their colour. That /might/ be an agate geode but I'm not entirely sure, colour is not a very reliable indicator.

  28. @northernnarwhal @metaltao I once had a huge bidding war on ebay for a piece of new jade that was almost precisely half blue/purple and half green/white. There were three spheres from that inclusion and the other two were larger and WAY out of my price range. I bid it up to $105.99 and stopped. Some guy ended up winning cause, like most idiots on ebay, he set a max of "$200" or more...then he backed out the deal and sold it to me second hand because he wouldn't pay that much, ever. I happily accepted it. It is now my favorite stone I've ever touched in my life. Let me find ya some pics...
