@tiffany Yeah, that's why I'm not against it anymore. But if the growth is somewhat slow we might still be able to keep a certain sense of community and the site's culture.

@rainyman I'm not the one that has to make the decisions but in my opinion the best next step is making the filter optional from account settings, so people who like it can keep it and people who don't can switch out. Like in multiplayer games. That'd encourage people to make accounts here instead of on another node, as this network has an unique UI as a plus but the filter as a con.

@rainyman It was a somewhat reasonable decision back in 2013 when we got many young users and the fandom was still alive, as many wouldn't know how to check their own mouths and the administration didn't want parents complaining.

@sumi You can do this, but then you carry the risk of the economy crumbling completely if for some reason most people try to take their money from the banks at once, I don't remember the name of this situation in english, in spanish it's called a "corrida bancaria". That causes the coin to not lose value by a 1% monthly or so, but rather you get an inflation of over 200% in a few months. Countries are too stupid or too confident usually to consider this and do it anyway, but it's the same as if you keep getting gambling debt with the mafia. You probably won't be asked for the money back as long as you regularly pay a bit of what you owe, but if the mafia ever needs money you'll end up at the bottom of a river.
