The USPS has guidelines detailing acceptable conditions for mailing dead/live birds, insects, and alligators. Something about throwing a live animal or a dead one's body parts into a box and shipping it seems incredibly wrong to me.

Breaking radio silence because work today was hilarious! This dude gets on and is already mad that the previous bus didn't show. I can't possibly know what happened to another bus and it would be a waste of time to find out, and he seems to understand and sits down. Then I hit a detour and he gets all antsy about making his transfer, saying I "need to" let him out "right here." I apologize, because "right here" isn't a bus stop, and keep on driving. Then he says if he misses his bus we're going to have a "physical problem." So I push the panic button (even though I'm pretty sure I've sneezed harder than this oldster could hit me), because Protocol. "Don't worry, you're going to make your transfer - to the back of a police car!" is a thing I thought about saying, but didn't. And I keep driving and drop him off at the next stop and the police arrive later and everything unfolds uneventfully ever after.

So just how many silica packets would it take to adsorb all the water from someone's body? Let's use a 210-pound man as an example. We know that 70 percent of a human body is made up of water - 70 percent of 210 pounds is 147 pounds of water. We also know that silica gel can adsorb about 40percent of its weight in moisture. So 10 pounds of silica gel are needed to adsorb 4 pounds of water.
It turns out that it would take 367.5 pounds of silica gel to adsorb 147 pounds of water. Since a single packet of silica gel weighs 0.1 ounces, that means a 210-pound man would have to consume 58,800 packets of silica gel. -
