@jimmyrustler btw the bible was COLLECTED into a canon 100 years after his death. Many scriptures and stories were recorded after his death; that with word of mouth and the stories changing in details caused some of the prime supporters of the faith to control it all by creating a set of rules which would determine which stories of Jesus were canon and which weren't. One of their rules was that it had to come from someone who directly interacted with jesus, which typically meant the apostles and their friends. Also, the stories collected had to be recorded within a certain time during or after his life iirc. All this stuff is in a wiki no doubt, but I researched all this when first learning about the dead sea scrolls.
