@cinnamonswirl But anyway, I was initially looking into basically the same thing, but for my house; that's when I found i.AM.radio and that it has about a 3k foot range, up to a mile with an antenna, still (according to the website, anyway) within FCC regulations, no broadcast restrictions for hobby/personal use.
