  1. @starlynx4 Most likely I'm just not noticing the person, especially the Public Timeline isn't really a good place for me to be all the time :x

  2. @cavatina Why should he get mintrefresh if he'll regret it? :P

Saturday, 21-Jul-12 18:57:29 UTC from web in context
  3. @spamcan Oh yeah, welcome and so. I was too busy being angry at stuff again to notice you were new, as usually happens with me.

  4. @toksyuryel Yeah, well, I didn't know it had this effect. Got to love Three Rings and SEGA for being too stupid to throw up a decent warning. Oh well, with Steam for Linux coming this year it's a problem that'll fix itself. My distribution already seems to have a version in the AUR (Arch User Repositories), but that seems to be the old, leaked alpha client.

  5. @spamcan Personal -> Replies (AFAIK)

  6. @toksyuryel: Looks like I can't play Spiral Knights on Linux without making a new account due to the absolutely retarded login system they use. Use Steam account? Can't login without having the game installed on Steam. Dammit, SEGA and Three Rings... >_>

  7. @jla The things that do work are a delight to use, though. Unfortunately the client broke down completely for me and I can't figure out how to remove the user data (I edited the source code, setting the character limit to 1000 and compiled, so that's probably why I can't find the user data)

Saturday, 21-Jul-12 15:09:26 UTC from web in context
  8. @jla Agreed, it has a lot of potential, though.

  9. Oh god how hard is it to install a graphic card driver? I mean, it's a hell of a lot harder under Windows than under my Linux (just select the "nvidia" package and click "install") but still...

Saturday, 21-Jul-12 14:35:50 UTC from web
  10. @communistprime Everyone does, but some Operating Systems are just smart enough to have important drivers in the kernel, so you don't have to install a driver for every damn thing you plug in.

  11. God, my little brother is an idiot. "Windows is slow, I'll reinstall and then game. Graphic card driver? Don't need that. EVERYTHING IS SO SLOOOOOOOW OMNI HELP MEEEEEE" *facehoof*

  12. @pony Yeah, that's what I figured, with them being able to be pretty much infinitely resized and all. Thanks for the confirmation

  13. @omni Thinking of it, do .svg files even have sizes?

Saturday, 21-Jul-12 13:59:20 UTC from web in context
  14. Does anyone want to make an icon for my game? I don't know the size of the SVG file, but it seems that I only need it to be 80x80 pixels. The game is a, well, textmode game. Here's a link, so you have an idea what kind of icon I'll need: http://178.85.178.39/textmode/game/src/. Of course I'll add you to the credits on my GitHub page with a link to your website/blog/whatever (https://github.com/TheLastProject/textmode - that page).

  15. Bad developer decision of the day: locking a game's framerate to 30fps to prevent a physics engine from breaking. Instead of, well, fixing the physics engine the Blade Kitten developers decided to force headaches and things similar to motion sickness due to non-fluid animation on users instead.

  16. @cavatina I see. Well, as long as I can just make an executable I'm happy, but I can't figure out what I need to properly cross-compile here, or how to do it.

Saturday, 21-Jul-12 11:11:59 UTC from web in context
  17. @cavatina Isn't .app an installer?

Saturday, 21-Jul-12 11:07:47 UTC from web in context
  18. @minti Do I need a complete SDK when I'm already using a cross-platform-compatible solution like QT with no external dependencies?

Saturday, 21-Jul-12 11:07:35 UTC from web in context
  19. Okay, I can't figure out how to compile something for Windows and MAC. My QT project compiles perfectly under Linux, for Linux, but I have no clue how to get it to create Windows and MAC .exe and .dmg (I believe that's correct?) files :(

  20. GNOME3 logic: Monitor off? Can't detect it, force 640x480 resolution and don't allow this to be changed until the user restarts all GNOME components.

  21. @techdisk42 I need to turn my PC off now, so my server is offline. The clients haven't been compiled yet, so I don't have a real client yet. The source code is on https://github.com/TheLastProject/textmode but contain a few game-breaking bugs so, in all honestly, please wait :P

  22. Okay, I've always liked QT, but turning my javascript-based game into a cross-platform-compatible (Windows/MAC/Linux) application in 10 seconds with the only issue being that it starts in a size that's way too small (100x100 or so) is just epic...

  23. @toksyuryel Fuchssi (long (read: not so long) story :P)

Friday, 20-Jul-12 21:54:50 UTC from web in context
  24. @toksyuryel Thanks for the Spiral Knights tip, after getting it to work me and my owner had fun with it for a few hours <3

Friday, 20-Jul-12 19:31:30 UTC from web in context
  25. @toksyuryel Spiral Knights is now acting like my owner's Steam Account does not exist, even though she logged in using it just 5 minutes ago but had to relog after the game crashed. If there's anything Three Gates and SEGA can't do right, it's creating a decent log-in system.

  26. Who's a silly @derpyshy, who's a silly @derpyshy. Who is, you is, @derpyshy.

  27. Bucking Spiral Knights, their .bin client doesn't support Steam login and their web client doesn't start properly for me because I can't figure out which of the 20 java plugins I should install on my Arch Linux system...

Friday, 20-Jul-12 16:56:13 UTC from web
  28. @toksyuryel I know, but back when I last played it the prices were completely insane. But I guess that was partially because the game was new (I played it on the Steam Release date)

Friday, 20-Jul-12 16:51:16 UTC from web in context
  29. @hakupony I prefer shooters, she prefers MMORPG games (like Ragnarok Online) so I take and consider any recommendation :P

Friday, 20-Jul-12 16:42:51 UTC from web in context
  30. @toksyuryel I remember playing it, it was fun but a real cache-centric game (even limiting gameplay to a few hours a day for free players). But I guess for a few hours it can do.l
