@greydragon412 I am sorry I have only been able to spot a single one in MLP so far. And really, explain me how this blocking will work. StatusNet is still too retarded to make blocking actually any useful (I won't see people on my personal timeline if I don't subscribe to them, but they'll show up in public no matter if I block them or not) and people around here switch around too often. One moment they'll be all "blahblahblah don't like clop let's talk about something else" and the next moment they talk about nothing but clop...
-
@greydragon412 That has absolutely nothing to do with it, really. I just want to find a place where people don't try to constantly push adult-themed content down my throat and, strangely enough, the term "child-friendly" doesn't seem to show that a place will prevent that from happening.
-
@greydragon412 Thanks for not being helpful at all.
-
@greydragon412 Well, what term should I be looking for then if I want to flee from all this crap?
-
@greydragon412 You respond like it's not bad for a "child-friendly" network to be so obsessed over such things.
-
@ceruleanspark brb checking out diasporia.
-
@ceruleanspark Ah, well, yeah, I noticed that. I was wondering how to make public the default again...
-
@ceruleanspark >the loss of public timeline - What...
-
@toksyuryel I guess a slightly less dark theme wouldn't be a bad idea, this one is way too dark anyway. But, well, I don't have a good designer.
-
@toksyuryel Perhaps can split it into two parts, like RDN has a "normal" and "RP" network. Or I can try to add rdnrefresh or so to it, allowing people to auto-hide either nsfw or grimdark (with tags), though I don't expect that to go well. Hmmm...
-
@toksyuryel 1.1.0 it is, then, thanks.
-
@minti The problem is, sometimes the line between non-clop and clop is hard to draw, especially when a network is already openly touching subjects like torture. Therefore, my original plan was to allow clop, but forcing users to make sure posts are properly tagged. Regarding the CSS, I was thinking of using StatusNet 1.1.0 with the 3-panel layout (I'm fine with considering another version, I don't know the differences but @ceruleanspark probably has a reason he is running this older version and not the latest), but theming should make any layout possible. I can't find the last stuff the CSS designer was doing back, but here is the design I made which probably makes you understand why I want someone who knows what he is doing to work on it instead: http://i.minus.com/i1eBRVDqUJYGp.png.
-
@minti For a StatusNet network
-
@minti You can't have a child-friendly Pinkamena Network, I'm afraid. I don't like such content so I won't participate in the community, but I can still manage the servers and so.
-
@princesstrixie Maybe I should just look into CSS myself, when I have some time...
-
@woona What to do when something bad happens: 1. Post about it; 2. Stare at your post; 3. Try to solve the issue.

@minti You guys will get your NSFW/Grimdark network when my CSS designer stops being lazy. But he still hasn't made the CSS I require...

-
@minti Sounds like a good idea.
-
@greydragon412 Not much would change, really, It's all "butts" and "clop" with these ponies anyway.
-
@anubins Oh, I know. Is it that bad to use ONE updater for ALL the games, just like I use ONE program to update ALL my software on Linux? Really, there is no need for all those dumb patchers that do the same thing Steam can do itself...
-
@ablomb Not sure what you're trying to say, mind elaborating? :P

@toksyuryel Like with Arch Linux. It was hard the first few weeks, but now I can do most things with my eyes closed and it feels so much nicer than Ubuntu.
-
@toksyuryel Actually not, but mostly because I haven't really put any time into it. I'd rather put time into that than into Ubuntu, though. In the end, I feel like setting it up properly once will take me less time and trouble than constantly fixing all the issues Ubuntu throws at me.
-
@thatonepony Pendrive it, it's much easier
-
@toksyuryel Huh, that's nice. At any rate, right now, Gentoo seems way less painful to use than Ubuntu... Ugh, this "trying to be simple" adds so many unneeded layers of buggy complexity, it's terrible...
-
@lyrica I'm not looking for a new OS, I'm quite happy with Arch Linux, but on this laptop I can't use anything but Windows 7 or Ubuntu...
-
@toksyuryel Including the bugginess and slowness, it seems...
-
@ceruleanspark If this is what an Operating System for human beings is like, I don't want to be one. It's a terrible, terrible experience...
-
Dear Ubuntu: You're one of the slowest Linux distributions I've ever seen, why do people like you most out of all the hundreds of distributions?
