  1. @renovatedkitchen This is not the RP site, are you sure you didn't mistype the URL?

  2. @renovatedkitchen *slaps you* You may thank me later.

  3. @widget I haven't used Mibbit enough to know how that works, sorry.

  4. @widget I was replying to you, saying that I was afraid that, even though it sounds nice, it could be bad for new users as they could get confused due to typing what they see not actually having the result they'd expect and that you may want to consider polling how many users like and actively use the feature and then I pressed my Android back button by accident and lost my post and I hate it when that happens as it stresses me out.

  5. Great, another long reply lost by pressing a wrong button. Buck this, I'm going to sleep, I don't want to risk this happening anymore right now...

  6. @widget Does it parse on the sending or on the receiving end? As it often manages to screw up my posts, I'd love to be able to disable it for my dashes (I miss being able to just type "*hugs*"). I'm not trying to get you to "fix it right now", though, that would be unreasonable. I'm just trying to find out what I can do because I personally dislike that behavior.

  7. @redenchilada I'd rather leave creepy witchcraft stuff to my ex :x

  8. @widget Now that I'm talking to you anyway, do you have any clue what's up with * becoming bold and / becoming italic and that silliness? :x (Besides that stuff, I do want to thank you for all the time you spend on RDN)

  9. @redenchilada But text files are clumsy :x

  10. @widget I don't care, I want to be able to. Make it use 100 characters or so then, so I can actually put stuff which should be on multiple lines down in a way that doesn't look stupid :(

  11. @bubbyt20000 TIL: Making newlines on RDN is apparently pretty possible. Why did nobody explain this to me?

Wednesday, 21-Nov-12 22:40:33 UTC from web in context
  12. @redenchilada He doesn't, he simply is terrible with computers and doesn't understand well how the program works, and accidentally ends up taking over our mouse because he is used to putting his mouse on stuff to get an explanation of what it does.

  13. @redenchilada And lose my account for 4 weeks? No, thanks. I know it's hard to believe, but I actually do school stuff at school. I'm one of those crazy people that actually like writing reports, especially if I can do so in LaTeX.

  14. Ever since our system administrator taught one of the people who are hired to make sure we use the computers at school for school stuff how to use this program which allows him to look at and take over our systems, I've had my mouse moving around like a mad-man, and I literally can't do my school stuff for a few minutes as I desperately try to protect the programs I need from accidentally being closed by him or otherwise turned into an unusable state. It's kinda funny, actually, and Ctrl+S makes it pretty possible to save your work before any damage can be caused.

  16. @unhipdruid It removed the first slash from "/etc/xorg.conf" :(

  17. @omni NO! BAD PSEUDO-MARKUP!

  18. @unhipdruid Also, important: Disable and uninstall your NVIDIA drivers and remove your etc/xorg.conf file (you may want to back it up, just to be sure). Also important, make sure the nouveau drivers aren't blacklisted in /etc/modprobe.d (I think that counts for Ubuntu as well). Also, as usual with computer stuff, YMMV.

  19. @unhipdruid @techdisk I was kinda semi-joking, even though I do think I'm quite uninteresting and boring compared to most people here. At any rate, thanks #

  20. @redenchilada It also makes me unable to use the up and down arrow, but I expect this to be fixed if it stops trying to check whenever there's nothing to autocomplete.

  21. @unhipdruid nouveau. On Arch Linux/Parabola they're listed as xf86-video-nouveau, not sure about Ubuntu. You should know that the performance is less than those of the NVIDIA drivers, though, but especially with the experimental nouveau-dri package which adds 3D-acceleration, it's actually good enough to render GNOME3 and games like Red Eclipse for me just fine.

  28. @yodelerty I don't assume all animes are bad, I actually quite liked Loveless, albeit quite saddening and it managed to drop me into a depression, and a few episodes of Death Note until it got too heavy for me. Hell, some years back I even managed to enjoy the first two episodes of Elfen Lied (though I think that is where I went wrong, the fact that I couldn't choose a side noticeably had some bad side effects on me). I can't find any animes I like anymore, though. Long story short: I think a lot of animes are similar in something I don't like, and therefore I fail to like most animes and therefore I give up trying and therefore I don't find any good animes I would like and therefore believe most are bad. (Very late reply saved by @thelastgherkin)
