@rainclop I'm still thinking about picking up a DS lite to get the sequels. I've held on to the first one for a few years.
-
@scribus I'm saying that !eqdawn is epic and probably won't die as a result of scaling issues from popularity. (And the undertone that it won't get flooded by like 100+ players every day is intentional too. No offense meant by that, but I can only think of three MU*s I've ever seen with +50 characters on at all times, and they're commercially funded affairs... (except the fetishy MU*.) ) I like to think that it'll always be around, though. X3

Oh. Right. And Pony VS. Bejeweled. It could totally work.

@flaxx If this happened on the PS3 or Wii within the next year, I would probably cry of amazing and dreamlike.
-
@scribus Take care, Scribus! Nice seeing you on! Hoep you sleep tight!
-
@flaxx Even if care is taken to avoid crowding, it's just not a safe game development investment. Not commercially, and not as fan projects. The best counter to this I can think of are text-based games, but they're somewhat niche these days.
-
@starshine It really fits Equestria's sentiment. Which is why I was kinda thrilled when I first started the Adventures in Ponyville game on HUBWorld before I realized it was basically a set of three minigames structured for ETERNAL GRINDING. It could have been much more, even the exact same visual assets it already has.
-
@rainclop Super Paper Mario? I still want to play it, I just haven't really done a thing with my Wii as of late.
-
I can think of one really good way MLPFiM could totally work in a fighting game / action game. Toss them in a crossover. Kingdom Hearts style.
-
@flaxx It could be epic if they took a route like a modified Animal Crossing. The problem is that it isn't very likely to survive, because of the way audiences take to MMORPGs, and the way MMORPGs scale when they are successful.
-
(The first Paper Mario. The second Paper Mario got pretty creative with enemies and their universe in general. And I still haven't played Super Paper Mario.)
-
@rainclop That, and how does combat help spread the joy of friendship?
-
@rainclop It would be fun, but the problem is much the same you'ld have with a deeper RPG of lots of units/monsters Disgaea/FinalFantasy/ElderScrolls/Ultima style: What in the world would the ponies fight? In Paper Mario games, there isn't a huge variety in the enemies, but it's not really combat-focused anyway, so it sorta pans out. Though I guess the same could be said for a beat-em-up. Don't need a ton of variety in enemies if it's an execution challenge.

@delc17 Hiya! :D
-
@delc17 What's sirred? *Goes to google.*
-
MLP:FiM games I'd most like to see and think are fairly plausible? A> Paper Mario, but Ponies and not flat. B> Pony Visual Novels with voice acting and the works.
-
Weasel words. And now to go back to failing to draw pony. Sorry I might be late on that Rainbow Dash / Scoots pic I was working on. :B I have an idea. I'm just struggling to do it in my sketchbook, and kinda wanted to nail it there before going digital. I think going digital now might be the best solution at this point.
-
@celestia I appreciate that you are trying to clarify in your post, but the fact remains that there is no explicit definition in the FAQs or ToS of either rainbowdash.net, rp.rainbowdash.net, or any of its software parents, which is the main issue. I don't think it is one that you can resolve alone.
-
It all comes down to this! A /*jewel*/ website containing the /*ultimate power!*/ discussion of RP!

@celestia Strict interpretation in most contexts I've seen refers to the practice of exercising rules exactly as they are written. Though I understand your intent. But right, if the Phoenix Wright silliness is considered RP, then perhaps what does and does not constitute RP should be defined more explicitly within the body of the FAQ.
-
@starlightbolt As a moral sort of thing and recognition of the target audience, I could see why this should be the case. I don't care for swearing, myself. Not even in clopfics. But stuff like that really should be added in if it's going to be enforced, rather than citing point 8 to justify everything and not have it clear upfront to users what is and isn't the expected etiquette of users.
-
@scribus I alllllmost wish the trapped-in-Ponyville thing actually happened, now.
-
@celestia Actually, I do not see this in the ToS or the FAQ. Though I don't really see the rule about swearing there, either, no matter how many times I point this out.
-
@celestia The consent rule would negate the action.
-
@extremedash Yep! I really ought to pick up some more balloons for twisting. I find the round ones more amusing, though.
-
@abigpony I think the ones doing the Dischord thingy are basically writing a massive fanfic as a byproduct of the RP, since RP is essentially collaborative ficwriting in the form they're approaching it. I'm not 100% sure on that, though, as I don't read the fic and I don't really RP on the RP site. Closest I come is my #oatmeal postings every now and then.
-
So... You want less pony, then?
Wednesday, 11-May-11 22:23:34 UTC from web -
@extremedash I have a book with a chapter on it and I can sorta do the dog, but I'm not very good at it. x3
-
@retl That was actually more understandable then my teacher.
