@kat I disagree that they're ad hominem attacks. #pulseaudio and #systemd are both examples of solutions in search of problems which deprived users of choice as distributions--not users--chose them and imposed their choice on users. Anyone who supports "free software" ought to be up in arms about this. And as such, we are looking at issues not just of good software practice but psychological issues of control and domination.

#systemd trend is quite dangeous thing. A GNU/Linux distribution should be as simple as possible and embrace UNIX philosophy.
I hope that #GuixSD will be more or less useable soon, so it will be possible to migrate on this solution, provided by the #FSF. The very idea seems to be very interesting and they made their own initialisation system. -

En tiempos actuales donde muchos avisan, reclaman, y lloran por algo que se pierde sus virtudes es precisamente el momento que mas se debe colaborar, apoyar, difundir y sobre todo tomar conciencia que algo no prosigue con sus mismos motivos de orígenes.
Falta ver o saber, como, donde o de que forma se puede potenciar las opciones alternativas de #systemd, unos tienen la idea de #Devuan, otros de intentar con #Funtoo, otros con #GuixSD, o en el último recurso con #Slackware. Lo importante como siempre es lo que más se viene practicando, compartir, documentar, explicar, argumentar, contrastar y finalmente aprender en mejorar. #withoutsystemd -

Ironías de la vida consiste que cuando creías que habías superado toda novedad de #distrophing mania entonces surge un nuevo tema, una nueva causa y sobre todo un nuevo propósito como por ejemplo desvincularse de #systemd. Y fíjate aquí que regresamos a nuevos terrenos, nuevas distros, nuevas sensaciones y nuevas experiencias.

Obarun is a complete graphical environment under Openbox that comes equipped with some basic tools like an image viewer, a text editor..., and diverse others programs.
The project was started due to the difficulties of maintaining a stable system with Systemd. Yes, Obarun doesn't use Systemd!. Systemd is completly replaced by Runit. Futhermore, the init system started during boot has been reorganized for Obarun. That is to say, it is inspired by void-runit, ignite, and runit-for-lfs.

El costo de la transformación, el debate que se está generando ahora con #systemd sirve de excepcional caso para conocer de verdad la infraestructura que tiene detrás cada distribución.
No ver a openSUSE con ninguna opción de poder instalar o tener un sistema sin systemd dice mucho. En cambio ver a #slackware o a #gentoo que siguen incluso sin inmutarse te deja casi en ridículo.
Lo que queda muy claro es que todo es manual o mejor dicho hecho en casa. Y sin perder la costumbre de poner alguna metáfora no se puede ir de hoteles o restaurantes diciendo que es lo más característico de cada zona, cuando lo real está en la calle, en las casas y en las familias mas sencillas, las verdaderas herederas culturales y todavía todo hecho a mano. -
