@mrmattimation IMO the appeal is mostly being able to build your character with full freedom, and equip any piece of gear on it. Then again I'm a fan of RPGs so maybe that's not appealing to you.

@mrmattimation It's hard to really briefly describe the appeal, but I guess it's that the Souls games (and Bloodborne) function not only as a well crafted RPGs but create a distinct player experiences through their command of atmosphere, worldbuilding, pacing, and attention to detail. They're games I've enjoyed a lot these past few years.
