excellent writing on the part of Chris Chibnall to decide that the Doctor can regenerate infinite times except that she can't because they took that power away from her and so at the end of the day absolutely nothing changes except that the Doctor apparently blacks out once every couple thousand years and loses looooooong tracts of time

ok so i'm rewatching some DW episodes from the David Tennant and Matt Smith eras to see if the show actually has gotten worse or if my idea of "good" has just changed since I was 16, and there's a scene in The Day of the Doctor, series 7, where Clara is taken to the Black Archive - a UNIT base - and there's a corkboard with photographs of the Doctor's past companions (including two separate pictures of Clara for some reason) that UNIT had taken in secret. River Song is on the board and I honestly think it's implausible that they would have been able to get ahold of her.

Just found a Doctor Who continuity error, last time I watched he was played by Peter Capaldi but I watched an episode today and they seem to have forgotten this because for some reason a totally different actor was in the role, very embarrassing for whoever made that mistake
