@bigponymac I learn some guitar over the past summer. I took a piano class during college. Piano was easier since I knew theory before entering it.

@bigponymac I am jealous of your skills. I have been the playing the oboe since 5th grade and just now learned guitar and piano. I still can't recognize chords too well. I am hoping music theory 2 will help me.

@bigponymac Its more pressure than I'd like :( Thats why I never really solo'd in jazz band.

@bigponymac That...sort of works, but I'm talking when playing a jazz head with an ensemble. Its a little more limiting then. (also i tend to be rather self-conscious)

@bigponymac oh i know, but when i hear someone say Bb I don't immediately think Bb, D, F. I have to think about it to get it right and therein lies my downfall :P

@bigponymac I need to learn to play guitar so that i can think in chords instead of notes. Thats why i can't improvise well; i cant follow chord progressions.

@bigponymac You were right; the guitar is very soothing in a happy way, while the piano is slightly depressing but with stronger emotion in each note.
