@widget I have insomnia stemming from my withdrawl symptoms and I was thinking: It should be hypothetically possible to select from the user database to get the avatar paths of all users and discard all the old, unused avatar revisions to free up a bunch of storage and speed up the backups. Same with personal timeline backgrounds. If not: Avatar purge. Nuke everything, reset everyone to default and let the active users reset theirs.

Specifically I want to see if a split config is faster. Frontend on a regular server with nginx and php-fpm, and backend on a server with a dedicated SSD for Percona-Mysql. It seems like, even with statusnet, RDN should be able to get away with much less hardware than is currently used.

Wait, so my iPad 2 will get iOS7, but my more recent 4th gen iPod won't. That doesn't make any sense, even for Apple. If it was straight up greed, it'd be the other way around, as the margin on the iPad is better.
