@abigpony S'not pretentious to have your own view on something, and I understand what you're saying. Must say, though, that I feel there is a legitimate connection, for me (and I'm sure others), with this show. I was always looking for something, I guess, that did have heart, colour, was uncynical and therefore could appeal to virtually anypony. The messages and camaraderie of the characters appeal to me on a spiritual level. This show seems to embody that. I think it has awakened in many (myself included) a means of expression, of showing certain things inside us that we previously had no outlet for - or rather, didn't realise we did. Yes, this is far beyond the remit of the show itself: I really do find this fanbase extraordinary and necessary. It has helped me both learn my potential, explore new avenues, and also become more comfortable in myself. Thank you all for giving me that freedom! This is my sincere feeling.

@abigpony I think 10 or so have confirmed. I'm travelling with two others, and I know at least 3 more personally who are going. Rotation is organising it. He even brought ponies to give out to the attendees.

@abigpony Oh, there's certainly the complicated route to solve the quandary, and heck it was just today that a 100-page overanalysis was posted on EqD. I prefer to just enjoy it while it lasts. Actually, delving into some of the sociopsychology behind why this particular fandom has such a high caliber of creative output and mutually followed but rarely spoken creed would be quite interesting...

@abigpony I think that's a good way of putting it! I probably wouldn't love the show so much it weren't for the community. But, that said, I can't help but admire the show: for me, it defies traditional logic that so much artistry can be accomplished under such limitations.
