Where has the idea that this fandom contains only geniuses that produce high quality work come from? There's proportionately just as much crap produced by us as there is any other fandom.

@ceruleanspark Most other fandoms I've been in have pretty much *only* produced low-quality stuff. Yeah, there's a lot of low-quality herpa derp in this fandom. But there's also a whole lot of really, really good material.

@abigpony Oh yeah, I don't deny that the group contains smart and dumb, talented and untalented people. It's just every time I see a member of this community describe its creative output it's always in the form of WE'RE SO AMAZING AND EVERYONE IS SUPER TALENTED AND BRILLIANT. Not "Our community follows a pretty regular talent distribution".

@ceruleanspark I guess what thrills me isn't so much the end result... its that so many people TRY here. I did my very first piece of fan art (kinda!) the other day... and am trying to write a fanfic on the side. Never thought I'd do either.

@ceruleanspark By the way, had some lovely comments from renna last night! She showed me her version... Its amazing how completely and entirely two results made from the same basic formula can differ!
