    1. @puck That doesn't sound bad at all! Unless you're working before and after that or something. I can't wait to get into some college for myself.

        1. @puck That sounds nice. I had kind of a day of yesterday. Just had to wander around and swap my weapon out. Then I sat in my room and played games most of the day. I actually forgot I was in Afghanistan for a little while...was nice.

          1. @communistprime Woah, you're in an Afghanistan? Good to see you get some days to re cooperate and relax bud.

                1. @puck Depends on where you are. Where I was, no. Where I am now, kinda.

                    1. @puck The first day I got here was kinda crazy, along with a few days here and there where it picked up, but that's about it. Can't wait to get home.

                        1. @puck I'll get back to Alaska around Oct 15th, but I won't be back home till around January, when I finally get out of the Army.

          2. @communistprime Swap it out for what? Another of the same model, or something different? (I have no idea how this stuff works)

            1. @ceruleanspark Well since I'm leaving soon I was moved to a FOB and I took my replacements M16 and gave him my M4. It's only been a day and I miss my M4...it was so light and nice and not-a-musket. D:

              1. @communistprime I've airsofted with weighted replicas of both, and I also prefer the M4, but I don't really think our experiences are comparable somehow. Or is it a "There are many like it but this one is mine" sort of thing?

Tuesday, 20-Sep-11 08:43:35 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                1. @ceruleanspark Kinda. I had that one with me since I got here. The M16 is just big and heavier (not by much, but it's noticeable) and just plain annoying.

                  1. @communistprime I had the same complaint about the M16 actually. It seems the replica was a faithful one in that regard. Of course, the temperature was a lot lower and I didn't have to worry about recoil or barrel heating either.

                    1. @ceruleanspark Barrel heating isn't a problem because you're not touching the barrel. And recoil is hardly noticeable with a round as small as 5.56, though it is present.

                      1. @communistprime Recoil is completely absent from an AEG, so even a small amount is noteworthy. Also, I'm pretty obviously not trained in the use of assault weapons, so any recoil at all is likely to throw me. The only real weapon I've fired is a break-barrel shotgun for clay-pigeon shooting.

              2. @communistprime B'awww why'd you get rid of your m4?
