  1. Since I'm not gonna be on a PC all weekend and the connection may be shoddy at the hotel, I'm putting all of FiM season 1 onto my phone now. I am so glad I have a 32gb card in this thing now, as well as the additional 8gb one. The 32gb one alone should hold all of season 1 and season 2's opening two parter with ease along with all of my music :)

    1. @leonkfox I confess that I've done the same. Even upgraded the card I had in my phone from a 16GB to a 32GB a few weeks back, because there was barely enough room on the 16GB for that AND my music, and that was before season 2. (And thus why my honey sometimes worries about me with this pony "thing" sometimes.)

      2. @astra Confound these ponies ,they eat up teh gigabytes on our phone's micro SD cards! But yeah, 32gb cards are awesome :) They have invented 62gb cards now (or somewhere around that capacity) but they're uber expensive and very few phones support them as of now. :(

        1. @leonkfox Yes those are SDXC cards, I think? No way my little Hero will support those, so I think 32GB is the best I will be able to do. Well, hopefully, these will last us through a few more seasons, until we can get a new phones eventually! ;)

          1. @astra Well towards the end of next year my contract runs out (was originally for a BlackBerry Curve 8520 which I got in January ,but I switched to an unlocked htc Desire Z in May) I'll need a new phone anyway, maybe they'll be supported by then? :) I sure hope so anyway! :P

            1. @leonkfox Wouldn't that be something? 64GB+ on your phone. Pretty amazing. Even more amazing is that, by then, we'd probably be able to fill it with ease! But, yes, I can technically get an upgrade now, but I'm still reasonably happy with my Hero, so I'll wait until the two-year contract is up around April of next year. If not longer. I used to catch a lot of grief for holding on to this really old, trusty Qualcomm-Kyocera phone for forever. It worked great, though, so I never saw a need to upgrade until it finally started to croak on me. May very well happen with this phone, too.

              1. @astra Is the Hero an htc device? Just asking out of mere curiosity :) I like knowing what Android devices my fellow bronies are using, is all. But yeah, 64gb on a phone...that would be incredible ,since 32gb feels like a lot to me as it is!

                1. @leonkfox Yes, it's an HTC. Looking online, it looks like it's called the G2 Touch in the UK. Basically the same, with a different case. As for 32GB, yes, you'd think that would be a ridiculous amount of storage for a cell phone. Considering mine is already half-full, though, after coming about 100MB shy of filling my previous ridiculous-amount-of-storage-for-a-cell-phone 16GB, though . . .

                  1. @astra I'm guessing a lot of that used up space is FiM episodes and music, like it was on my 8gb card? :P

Saturday, 01-Oct-11 03:07:25 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                    1. @leonkfox Most of it is my music, though a fair chunk of it is MLP episodes (about 3GB total after resizing them for the smaller screen with Handbrake).

                      2. @astra My FiM episodes folder is 5.56gb, and my music folder is 2.65gb. You can see why I upgraded from that old 8gb micro SD card now, can't you? :P

                        1. @leonkfox Hee! Oh, yes, definitely. :) Well, that 32GB should last you a good long time, then, sounds like! three or four more seasons, at least. ;)

                          1. @astra Indeed. =P It was a tad pricey, but it was worth it! BTW, @carcino is trying to get your attention. :P

                            2. @leonkfox I got mine for a great price (at the time) on NewEgg, but, yes, still rather pricey. And now I'm seeing them show up for less rather commonly, so I feel a little silly now. But, hey, it's done great for me, and having those episodes handy has been quite nice for unwinding on lunch breaks on particularly stressful days, so I can't complain.:) As for that other bit, duly noted, and thank you for letting me know. :)

                              1. @astra WHY ASTRA

Saturday, 01-Oct-11 06:36:41 UTC from StatusNet Android
                              2. @astra I had the Eris for a while, which was basically the Hero in a different suit, and I was so papayased when they forced me to update to 2.1. That thing ran like a dream on 1.6 ;_;

Saturday, 01-Oct-11 06:39:17 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                                1. @gangstashy I think that I got mine right after they started selling them with Android 2.1 already installed, so I never saw how it was before then. Mine seems to run fine, though, especially after I got some help in "rooting" it and removing most of the Sprint programs. Admittedly, it does need some maintenance every few months to keep working that way (running a "cache clean" program, and backing up my text messages and call logs so I can clear them when they get too big).

Saturday, 01-Oct-11 07:02:44 UTC from web
                                  1. @astra Oh yeah, I'd always delete my messages if the threads were more than 100. Mine ran like cream on 1.6, god it was smooth. I finally got around to rooting mine like 3 months before it was due for an upgrade. Another good program to have is called "Fast Reboot". It basically reboots the firmware but not the phone, also, Watchdog is an awesome program. It monitors both RAM and CPU (which is what really slows down android) and acts as an app killer.

                              3. @astra My 32gb micro SD card was about 30 quid or so ,but it was worth every penny, I can easily store my music and the FiM episodes :)

                                1. @leonkfox o.O I got a 16GB Micro SD card from Amazon for a tenner.

                                        1. @ceruleanspark @mrdragon Not sure what class this micro SD card is, to be honest. I got it from Amazon a little while back.

                                            1. @mrdragon @leonkfox On the off chance that either of you care enough to check, the class should be printed on the card itself. Number in a circle.

                                                1. @leonkfox Well, its a photo of a class 4 card, at least.

                                                    1. @leonkfox You'd think that, but theres a Rarity brushie being sold on there with a product image of Pinkie Pie, so..

                                2. @leonkfox That's about how much I paid for mine as well ($45.99 US, which is right around £30, give or take). Definitely worth it!
