Added a purple jeweltone #balloon to the room. At first I was like :| purple. And then I was like :o soft. Quick, inexpensive, disposable plaything. I am cool with that.

@retl cool! Imma guess your a loonie. If so that's awesome!
-
@zach If you picked that term up from G4's trashy uninformed bash-all show, I am going to have to see if there's a way I can wipe their garbage from the face of this Earth..
-
@zach Sure, why not?
-
@retl What's this dear?
-
@retl No... It's a sad derogatory term. You are a balloon enthusiast. And an awesome one
-
@retl You should do what gays did and take ownership of the derogatory term so that it loses all its power.
-
@jinny There are TV channels I used to watch all the time that I found out years later had done almost no fact checking on the things they were airing. That is, I had taken in massive amounts of falsehood over time. Imagine if you watched Fox News all the time because that was the only thing you knew, and then you found out later that it was all lies that you made a ton of decisions on? And that you probably unknowingly conned your friends into it, too?
-
@zach That's confusing.
-
@retl You mean north Korea
-
@retl You like balloons..l nuff said. And that's awesome
-
@ceruleanspark You're talking to a guy who actively dodges applying the term "brony" to humans unless he's entering a discussion in which it's already in play. In addition, rather than making it lose power, I'd be inflating the controversy over the term with others in the know. It is not a path to friendship.
-
@zach Oh. XD Of course I like balloons. That's why it's mentioned in my profile and website about a thousand-teen times. :3 That would be true.
-
@retl Is there a problem with the term brony (apart from it being retarded)?
-
@jinny OMG YAY A HUG target locked. Tacklehug launched. *TACKLEHUGSPLOSIONAAAAA*
-
@zach I've never been there, but I imagine it may be like that.
-
@retl Is it sexual O_o
-
@zach Is what sexual? :o If you mean clopfics, then yeah. Clopfics are pretty sexual.
-
@retl I would read a clopfic nonsexually
-
@retl No...your balloon obsession
-
@ceruleanspark Enough that I won't advocate the term. If I have to refer to the collective, I usually either use "MLPFiM fandom", or "the herd". Generally, it ends up being evident that I mean other pony fans if I just say "other people". Especially in discussions on sites like RDN or EquestrianDawn.
-
@zach So someone like balloons and that's your first thought?
-
@ceruleanspark You should check out Zecora's Bedtime Story and The Romance Reports, I think, then. Though I've only read the first of those two. Both are #NSFW to my knowledge. #NSFCMC
-
@retl What don't you like about it in particular? The alleged gender specificity? The fact that it sounds plain dumb?
-
@colfax It's the Internet and I know people
-
@retl Hehe yaay! *She tackesplodes* xD #snuggle It is interesting how much information we're bombarded with on a daily basis, and what sources have clout, we just take for granted that they're correct. I'll remember that next time some news source tells me to mix ammonia and bleach to make a powerful cleaning agent.
-
@zach So because you go online that means you know how every single person on the planet thinks? Wow, I must have done something wrong then because I;m online too and I only know the people I actually talk to on a regular basis.
-
@colfax Sorry... That was a bad accusation
-
@zach Kinda sounded like those people that just assume we all pedophiles because we like ponies, don't you think?
-
@ceruleanspark 1> I don't like depending on fandom labels. I know some people can't stand identifying themselves without a group to "belong" to, but I can't stand that personally. I have a hard time with people who have no self confidence. 2> Regardless of intention or conception, if you say "Bro" to the average person who isn't Internet savy, it's taken masculine. Adding "Ies" to it doesn't negate that. The fact that the drama has come enough that "Pegasisters" was needed to be coined, and that the question of, "what is a female brony called?" keeps coming up, there's an issue. 3> It still sounds too close to "brownies" for comfort. 4> Pony is a four letter word. Brony is five. 5> I am not from /co/ or /b/. I have seen more things die at the hooves of their homebase than I have seen benefit. I don't need their reputation to become mine.
-
@zach You don't have to apologize. But it's kinda like asking if liking candy is a sexual thing. Or if liking furniture is a sexual thing. It wouldn't necessarily have to be one way or another, as is human experience in general. I'm not really sure how to best answer that inquiry.
-
@zach Now if you were asking if I've ever used balloons for anything sexual ever, then sure. Drawing fetishy stuff is a quick way to make money, and pretty much where all of my free income for things like Pony DVDs and other pony goods is coming from.
-
@jinny Especially on the internet. XD
-
@retl Hey, people use balloons for sexual reasons all the time... they're called condoms.
-
@retl Just ignor me
-
@colfax Bwahahahahahaaa. That is true.
-
@zach I'm not saying your inquiry is invalid, just that I'm not sure how you want me to answer it. But alrighty. *Pats on the back.*
-
@retl Hehe yes. xD The internet especially.
-
@retl "It sounds too close to brownies for comfort" Are you uncomfortable with brownies?
-
@ceruleanspark GUYS, I'M A BROWNIE! (Not evident on the web, but this becomes awkward for the same reason I shouldn't use the nickname "Token".)
-
@retl I don't like the word because it's extraneous. I've never been in a situation where I've HAD to use it. Pony fan or pony works fine if you need to refer to a group.
-
@colfax I know this may sound strange, but I am somehow finding a way to work that into a conversation today.
-
@retl @ceruleanspark Brownies are just young girlscouts. :3 Nothing wrong there. ^^
-
@retl I have quite literally never someone say "Brownie" to designate race.
-
@ceruleanspark Sounds like as good as reason as any to me. :3
-
@abrititaly Nah, that's not strange, strange is having a friend who regularly wakes up yelling "I don't want to be a chicken mcnugget" and has no ide why.
-
@ceruleanspark It might just be those awkward, unfun school memories kicking in. That's one thing I like infinitely more about university. If you can't stand someone, short of illegal physical violence, noone can force you to stay there if you want to drive off.
-
@jinny Is that true? :O If so, I never knew.
-
@colfax Or getting chased into both the male and female bathrooms at a McDonald's by rabid fangirls. ...Fun day. But your friends sounds kinda awesome actually XD
-
@abrititaly He was, haven't seen him in years.
-
@zach Yay, friendship! *Cuddlyhugs~*
