ok could someone please tl;dr this "roleplay is being banned" sort of stuff I've been seeing here lately, as I evidently missed something.

@starshine Roleplay isn't banned, it's just getting it's own sub-site. :)

@starshine The site will be splitting in a few weeks. That's basically it.

@starshine They're splitting RDN into two sites. This one, which will be "twitter-like" social networking, and a RP subsite, which will be for people who want to RP.

@princessluna @starshine Which, as far as i can tell, has severely scared the roleplayers into not roleplaying... ((shrug)) It'll come back right quick. @administrator Do we have a proposed date for the subsite's genesis?

@princessluna So that basically means somepony like me who kind of pays attention to that sort of thing now has to either pick between one site and another, or watch two places. That's sort of annoying.

Also what about those who don't really rp but just post "in character"? like derpyhooves for example.

@starshine if you use a client (desktop/android/iphone), I believe you can merge the networks together, but if you're doing web-only, then yes, you'll have to monitor two pages.

@libbylishly May 11th is the target date. And as for RolePlaying here, it is perfectly acceptable, no one should stop simply because we are going to be splitting off soon. I don't want people to leave... I don't want to be all alone! D:

@starshine i'm in-character stuff like derpy and zecora are fine, but it's the longer, more involved stuff that's getting it's own spot.

@starshine Status.Net allows for OStatus cross-site following/groups/replying. http://www.rainbowdash.net/conversation/17156 for example. You simply go to the site and click follow/join without logging into it, and post the link to your profile when prompted. If you want to post to the RP as well, though, then you would want to sign up.
