    1. @colfax How on earth did you manage to run over you're own passenger seat?!

      1. @andranator2 I had an old jeep, I was driving it home with a couple bags of groceries in the seat and I hit a pothole really hard... turns out the floorpan was rusted out more than I thought... lost over $40 worth of groceries along with the passenger seat that was kind of past saving at that point.

        1. @colfax Well, you know you have a crappy car when...lol, that's awful. Sorry about the groceries.

          1. @andranator2 I have quite a few automotive horror stories, from driving home a car in flames to snapping one in half.

            1. @colfax It doesn't have much on your stories, but my dad lost the floor out of one of his first cars and made it through the winter with just the carpet.

              1. @eaglehooves Sounds kinda like the only convertible I ever owned... lost the roof halfway through december and wasn't able to replace it till around april.

                1. @colfax Um... You don't live somewhere that gets snow, do you?

                  1. @eaglehooves I live in NJ, ad we got about three feet of snow that winter, I went through a lot of those blue tarps and countless rolls of duct tape.

                    1. @colfax XD My hat is off to you. You've put up with cars where I would have hoofed it.

                      1. @eaglehooves Where I lived at the time walking wasn't really an option, the bus went through maybe once a week, if you were lucky... it wasn't the end of the world but you could see it from there.

                        1. @colfax If I lived somewhere I needed a car, I probably would have ended up with a few junkers, but I grew up in the suburbs and moved to the big city, so I've gotten by without ever owning one. (And oddly, you can see an 'end of the world' of sorts from here, too)

                          1. @eaglehooves Cleveland Ohio is not anywhere near the end of the world.

                            1. @andranator2 Not the desolate wasteland, just some neighborhoods that look pretty darn abandoned and boarded up. I'm not taking directions from certain people anymore.

                              1. @eaglehooves Ah, I understand.

                              2. @eaglehooves If it has the same maintenance level and number of visible people as a bad zombie movie, it's close enough to the end of the world for me.

                          2. @eaglehooves Never underestimate the power of a junker, with all the beaters I've ever owned I never had to worry about getting cut off, because they knew another dent added to the collection wouldn't bother me at all but their precious little "'cedes" wouldn't be worth it's weight in paper clips.

            2. @colfax How on earth do you snap a car in half?! Also isn't driving a flaming car kinda dangerous?

              2. @andranator2 And yeah, driving a flaming car isn't the wisest of things to do, but I really didn't know it was on fire till I stopped and the flames showed through the gap around the hood.
