@cabal As I would have been one of the first people to jump on your back if you’d gone ahead with a SOPA blackout, I feel it would be remiss of me not to provide positive feedback for not doing it. http://www.renzokuken.org/post/16109044003/fao-cabal

@ceruleanspark i am really disgusted by this patronization. However I respected my users wishes. I am just upset that you all see me as being paranoid when it come to the first amendment rights on the Internet. Have you read the recent news that megaupload.com was seized? And it's founders arrested? Arstechnica.com
-
@cabal Wow really? Patronization? Sorry that you saw it that way, but I was being /polite/ and trying to illustrate that I was NOT actively just trying to hate on whatever decision you made. Y'know? To show support for what was a potentally frustrating decision on your part? To address your second point, yes, I have. I was actually one of the first people to post said news to this network. I don't think the timing of it was a coincidence. however, at the time of me writing this, I'm not sure what the actual charges being levelled against them are, and whether or not they actually hold any water.
-
@ceruleanspark shhhh pap pap pap
-
@carcino I'm not done. I figure since he's already murdocked at me, I might as well address the "Everyone thinks I'm paranoid" complaint as well.
-
@ceruleanspark If we think of this as a work environment, he's the boss and you're the employee. Isn't it very unofficial to be having a shouting match with and employee?
-
@carcino Hey, I'm not shouting. I'm attempting to have a rational exchange of views.
-
@ceruleanspark That was more aimed at him really. But
-
@carcino In my experience it is completely acceptable for a boss to yell at an employee. Commonplace, even.
-
@ceruleanspark If It's for a rational reason maybe, like if the employee messed up. But he's the only one blaming you for things when he is often criticized by other mods.
-
@carcino Maybe he doesn't know why people think he's paranoid. I am the only one who's actually engaged directly with him via @reply, so that's probably why he's only mad at me.
-
@ceruleanspark I'm sure if I had a complaint I would take it directly to him. But I have none. Get the other mods to voice their opinions?
-
@carcino I didn't have a complaint either! My original post was a compliment!
-
@ceruleanspark Oh. Then ITT: being a dole for no real reason?
-
@carcino I posted a thing saying basically: Good job not doing a pointless blackout, what happened as a result was more useful for raising awareness than a blackout could have been. He took that as an attempt to patronise him. I'm baffled.
-
@ceruleanspark Some people I guess. Take a shot.
-
@thatonepony I don't have it in for him, I'm just frustrated that we share the same view, but his painting of every issue as black and white, the apocolypse or eternal life in heaven undermines the rest of our attempts to inform and educate
-
@ceruleanspark It's a matter of him expecting trouble from you and therefore no matter what you say he'd think you were attacking him.
-
@thatonepony Exactly. Still, I'mma post this thing and see what happens (Probably nothing, or more rage)
-
@cabal As for the paranoia issue: You yourself are the one who posted suggesting that if SOPA passes, you'd be dragged out of your house by a SWAT team in the dead of night. That IS paranoia. One could also aruge that reading my previous post and coming to the conclusion that it was /intended/ to patronise is also a mark of paranoia. You editorialise every issue you have an opinion on extremely strongly, leading to a chicken little/boy who cried wolf scenario whereby you may well be talking about something incredibly important (IE: Free Speech) but the manner in which you are talking about it puts people off.
