          @ceruleanspark tamagotchi are nifty! I never had a namebrand one either though.. I did have a little dog knockoff and a couple Digimon types. I still have a digimon one somewhere.. my favorite though was my pikachu pedometer thingy

      @ceruleanspark I remember years ago in school all my friends had them. I ended up asking my mum for one. But she got me some cheap knock-off version and was all like "it's basically the same thing". Man I was so annoyed, and lord knows I TRIED to get some use out of it, but the damn thing kept dying.

        @ecmc1093 Yes! A lot of the knockoffs had a software bug where they couldn't handle rolling over into double digit ages, so they'd auto die at 9 years.

          @ceruleanspark I don't know if that was the case with mine. I seem to remember it dying from neglect overnight because I couldn't find any way to switch it off.
