      1. @zennx normal clay is great when you have access to a studio or designated space to make a mess at home. I'm looking for something precoloured that doesn't require a kiln to preserve though.

          1. @zennx sweet! I could pay a small fee to use my university's supplies and make metal ponies, but I'm not sure how I'd paint metal.. I've only ever worked in bronze before..

            1. @pony metal's tricky, because you actually have to make the metal react to certain chemicals in order to get the desired effects.

              1. @the20percent *nods* I've used a handful of different types of patinas, but my experience is really limited beyond that. I found what I was looking for anyway.. Sculpey is a multicolored oven-hardening polymer clay sold at my local crafts store. It should do the trick.
