@pony I always imagined her as more of a clumsy pony than a retarded one. Though I am unsure how bubbles would relate to a legit talent... other than... blowing bubbles?

@trister @pony She was made to represent the mistakes we do in life, and that we should just get up and get on with them. She was also the symbol that, she may be different, but she is in no one incapable of not doing anything. And is always willing to try her hoof and do her best, even if she does it a bit clumsy. But she tries, and that's what she is meant to be seen as. Instead people jumped to conclusions, instead of seeing her for her meaning. And as a Symbol for those that are like her in life, to keep trying even when others look you down.

@trister I mean the fanfic (sadfic) Bubbles.. That lead me to believe that she was viewed beforehand (at least by some fans) as mentally handicapped.

@pony some fans viewed her that way, yes, but there have been many fan representations of Derpy, and, though I've never read that fanfic, she usually seems to be fully capable to me

@pony another series I haven't read... then again I haven't read much pony stuff. A lot of what I read involved Dinky too, I suppose the family dynamic would be altered if she was retarded

@pony derping doesn't always refer to mental deficiency, it can be used when someone messes up or their mind fails them. and, at the same time, ditzy doo is just as silly, at least in my opinion
