It went this way because this discussion actively made a close friend of mine cry.

@ceruleanspark This particular conversation or this type of conversation in general?
Saturday, 03-Mar-12 23:42:25 UTC from web-
@starlightbolt Any type of conversation that starts with "My religion says people with X-genital preference can't do X"
Saturday, 03-Mar-12 23:43:06 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark Ugh that's too sensitive. Does stuff like "My religion says women that like women can't reproduce with each other" bother her? Because it's true. That being said, I honestly feel that someone says something that upsets someone else, its the fault of the person that gets upset. People need to get their emotions under control. I'm sorry for the harshness (I'm not)
Saturday, 03-Mar-12 23:48:45 UTC from web-
@starlightbolt Getting your emotions under control is easier said than done. You can't blame anyone for feeling offended, just like you can't blame people for other emotions. You literally can't help it.
-
@omni If the truth upsets you, then you are weak. If lies upset you, then you are a fool. That's my policy.
Saturday, 03-Mar-12 23:56:40 UTC from web-
@starlightbolt Then I am weak, seeing how truths have already driven me to failed suicides often enough. I fail to understand your point here though.
-
@omni I don't have a point. To each their own. Out of curiosity, why do you have failed suicide attempts? Could you not fully go through with it, did someone stop you, or did you just not doing right?
Sunday, 04-Mar-12 00:08:19 UTC from web-
@starlightbolt I'm... weak... I literally was too afraid of the pain to continue, an issue I still have. If not for that I wouldn't be here anymore, but now I also promised my owner I wouldn't kill myself so it all becomes so much harder to break out of this useless existence. Wish I wasn't always this weak and scared >_>
-
@omni I figure dying is like taking off your shoes after a long day of walking around. It's probably relieving, but it matters whether the person wants to keep "walking around."

@starlightbolt ... That is exactly how I feel, except I've never been able to put it in words.
Sunday, 04-Mar-12 00:20:29 UTC from web -
@starlightbolt that's actually a pretty interesting way of thinking about it

@starlightbolt No, just things that imply that people come in tiers depending on where they like to stick their bits and pieces.
Saturday, 03-Mar-12 23:51:44 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark "depending on where they like to stick their bits and pieces." this phrase tickled my fancy haha. But I dunno, I could understand if she got upset at how retarded everyone is that thinks that way. People come in tiers, but its not based on sexual preference.
Saturday, 03-Mar-12 23:54:33 UTC from web-
@starlightbolt bisexuality was the norm in ancient greece, and through the medieval period up until the renaissance gender was seen as performative rather than genetic, so my personal views on sexual preference is whatever makes the person happy, social constructs change and people's views often change with them, so there's no real reason for discrimination based on such preferences
Saturday, 03-Mar-12 23:57:49 UTC from web-
@trister IMO people should do whatever they want as long as it does not directly effect someone else in a negative way. This includes, putting whatever, where ever, into whoever that is willing to have it put in them.
Sunday, 04-Mar-12 00:01:10 UTC from web-
@starlightbolt that's a pretty good viewpoint to have, I can support that
Sunday, 04-Mar-12 00:03:30 UTC from web -
@starlightbolt As long as they realize that constantly talking about how great it is to people that do not want to hear it is affecting those people, agreed
-
@omni That fails under the indirect category if you are referring to your earlier conversation of the people gloating about sex. I don't really care about sex myself, it's kind of boring tbh and there's other things I'd rather be doing. I don't really care when people gloat about it though. I kinda just feel bad for them that sex is the best thing ever for them. :I

@starlightbolt Oh I certainly wouldn't argue that some people are demonstrably better than others. The concept of "All men being born equal" is a myth. My friend IS upset by how stupid and unnecessary it all is. Instead of trying to stop them from doing stuff, couldn't the high and mighty religious types be helping hobos or something?
Saturday, 03-Mar-12 23:59:45 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark It's about what's better for the interest of cults. Listening to whoever says is speaking for the gods is just dumb.
Sunday, 04-Mar-12 00:01:24 UTC from web -
@ceruleanspark Eh it's not just the religious types trying to keep people from doing things, there are some many groups that are trying to prevent/force people to do things for whatever dumb reasons.
Sunday, 04-Mar-12 00:06:34 UTC from web-
@starlightbolt Yeah, but when you're a homosexual, it's typically people who claim to be doing the work of some god or another.
Sunday, 04-Mar-12 00:07:37 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark I'm a girl that like girls, and I don't care. I've got other things like the job environment and my health to worry about. I'd don't have time to boohoo every time someone doesn't like me or something I do.
